An Update on Homeland Insecurity

At this juncture, there is a sitcom-like quality to many of the Bush administration's homeland security efforts . That may not be a bad thing because I'd cry if I wasn't laughing.

The New York Times reports that the Coast Guard, under intense pressure from shipping companies concerned about costly delays, is tipping off some large commercial ships about security searches that had been previously been a surprise.
